Bandung Independent School was founded in 1972 to serve the needs of the expatriate and local community in Bandung, Indonesia. The Pre-school to Grade 12 student population is approximately 240 and represents 24 nationalities. The language of instruction is English. BIS is an IB (International Baccalaureate) World School, offering the IB Diploma Programme in High School and the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) from age 3 -11 years. BIS was authorized by the IBO to run the PYP in 2004.
